There are many alternatives to gain the right to become a Turkish citizen. One of the most prominent and preferred among these alternatives is the option of purchasing housing. The reason why this alternative stands out compared to the others is that the process is very easy.
If we refer to the procedures for acquiring the right to apply for Turkish citizenship by purchasing a house in general, purchasing real estate in the amount determined by the law provides the right to apply for citizenship.
After completing the necessary documents to buy a house in Turkey, the purchase process is carried out in authorized institutions in person or with the help of a proxy. According to the relevant law, the real estate cannot be disposed of for a period of 3 years after applying for citizenship. After the housing is purchased, the Turkish Citizenship application process can be carried out very easily in the authorized institutions with the Title Deed and the necessary documents.
At the government meeting held recently, it was decided to determine the value of the real estate to be purchased to apply for Turkish citizenship as 400 thousand dollars. With the law enacted in 2018, this amount was reduced from 1 million dollars to 250 thousand dollars. With this rise, it seems as an inevitable fact that the real estate market will also rise.
Although the general title of the government meeting is the real estate value to be purchased for Turkish citizenship application, it will be learned whether other articles in the law have changed after the change is published in the official newspaper.
Although the price increase seems to be a negative factor, it is expected that Turkey will continue to be preferred at this point, since the citizenship application processes of other European countries are longer and more detailed.
